"Dear Parishioners, As you know, the Harlem Vicariate is well into the "Making All Things New Process." This process of visioning the Catholic presence and ministry in the Archdiocese is very important. For us in Harlem it is critical that we look at how we cn improve the quality of ministry in this area. The reality is that we can not do this alone. As a community of faith, we must seek partners in the vineyard to accompany us through this process.
At our many parish meetings, it has become evident that we want to reach out to All Saints, our neighboring parish in order to become collaborators in the process. Who knows what the final determination will be but no matter what, we need to be more proactive in working out a realistic plan that will strengthen the Catholic presence and ministry in our area. We need your prayers through this process.
Fr. Freddy"
The Preliminary Recommendations created by the Archdiocesan Advisory Group
Model Three Consolidated Parishes: The 2 faith communities of St. Mark the Evangelist and All Saints will be consolidated, with a possible new name, at the site of the current St. Mark the Evangelist Parish ( depending upon a structural and long term maintenance appraisal ).
Model Three Consolidated Parishes: Continue
the consolidated parish community at St. Charles Borromeo. There will
be an additional worship site ( i.e. weekend Masses, occasional weddings
and funerals ) at Resurrection. The additional worship site will be evaluated
every two years based on use, financial viability and building condition.
Model One Collaborative Parishes: among all the four remaining parishes in the cluster.
